What I’ve done, ultimately, is just manually add his death to his character item, incidental to the event item. I get different results, or sometimes the same result, but the one thing I don’t get is a result in which Clifford’s death and the date of the event are what I want it to be. I’ve tried different variations, and also tried going the other direction and adding a constraint to Clifford’s character entry instead of through the event entry. The problem is when I add this constraint to the Clifford event, I get the message “1 item was moved due to constraints”, and the event, it turns out, now has the Clifford birth date from his Character Item entry. My instinct is for it to actually be End > equals end of > (Character Item) Clifford, since the event itself ends with his death, but for now I’m sticking with the same construction as I saw in the imported Harry Character Item. End > equals start of > (Character Item) Clifford. In v3, well, I still haven’t succeeded.īased on the explanation linked above, which covers birth only, and on the way Harry’s character constraints appear as imported from v2, I inferred that for Clifford I should add a constraint to the event in which Clifford dies thusly: Based on that, I try to link that event to his death. But as the plot develops, I realize there’s an event at which, oops, Clifford does in fact die. I don’t set a death date because, at first, I have no plans to kill him off. So in v3, I create a new character, “Clifford.” At first, I simply enter a birth date for him, since he’s a secondary character and his date of birth doesn’t have plot significance, but I do want to keep track of how old he is at various points so it’s useful to have a date set. (For example, Harry didn’t die at the “start of” the “Harry’s death” event, but the end of it, but this is a minor point, though I’m afraid to change the logic in the imported constraint, because see below.) Harry still has a birth and death linked, and the dates are right. That language is a little convoluted, but I could see the logic. In that v2 timeline, I was able to do that sort of thing with several character, always without a hitch.Īfter updating to v3 and importing my timeline, the “Harry” character entry had two constraints: In that timeline, I had a character “Harry” and two events, “Harry’s birthday” and “Harry’s death.” I linked those two events to the birth and death fields respectively, and all was well. As it stands, I can’t “constrain” a character’s birth and death to two different events, and the knowledgebase doesn’t provide any illumination.įor example, I had a working timeline from v2. I assume there’s a reason the simpler approach in Aeon 2 was abandoned in terms of attaching a character’s birth and death to an event, but the current approach is very counterintuitive. I have to admit this constraint system is very confusing to me. the duration would not be automatically adjusted on moving the end death date). In Aeon Timeline 3, you can add the set date, but you can only link them to events based on the constraint system, and this is not currently set up to cover all cases (eg. However in Aeon Timeline 2 you could either add a set date for the character’s birth/death or link them to events. if it has the same birth/death dates then it should give the same duration). The actual calculation of the duration for the entity should be the same (eg. This will then display your character on the timeline if they have been given birth/death dates. Select Character from the list on the left, and tick the option “Timeline View” under the heading “Show In”. If you open the Settings Window (the cog icon), then Data Types tab, then Edit in the top right, you will open Advanced Settings. You also can display your characters on the timeline like an event, which shows their lifespan (I don’t know if this would be helpful to you). So you can just add the event manually, the only reason to use the constraints would be potentially if you were going to be changing the birth/death date as you write the story and want some notification of that (as otherwise you would have to manually remember to change both values) I forgot to link to this help page: Linking a character's birth or death with an event - Aeon Timeline 3 Knowledge Base which explains the constraints setup as I mentioned earlier. Yes that is correct there is no button that adds an event automatically from a character’s birth or death date.

I think it tastes just like their honey roasted barbecue sauce. Speaking of dip, I like to mix honey mustard and BBQ sauce for these Chick-Fil-A grilled nuggets and chicken of all kinds. The baked chicken tenderloins I mentioned above use this time and temperature, as an example. Or if you’d rather bake them, I’d start with 400✯ for 15-18 minutes directly on a baking sheet. You could pan fry the nuggets over medium heat for 6-8 minutes with a splash of olive oil or cooking spray like my pan fried buffalo chicken bites. How to Make These Nuggets without an Air Fryer It allows you to add some crispy edges to proteins like my pork tenderloin carnitas or spicy bbq pulled pork without drying them out.Īnd there you have it, Chick-Fil-A grilled nuggets ready to be dipped and enjoyed! The broil function is one of my favorite things about the Instant Pot and Foodi. One note I’ve added to the recipe card below is that you can broil your nuggets for a few minutes at the end of cooking if you’d like them a bit crispier around the edges. Different models/sizes of air fryers may have different cook times, but I doubt it’s that far off. I tested this recipe in the Instant Pot Air Fryer combo and 6.5-quart Ninja Foodi. Step 3: Air fry the nuggets at 400✯ for 10-12 minutes. Side note: For 6 other flavors, check out my full air fryer chicken nuggets recipe guide. Whether it’s 100% accurate or not, the seasoning blend gets darn close and the powdered sugar really works. They supposedly use powdered sugar for their classic chicken nuggets so it doesn’t seem far fetched that could extend to the grilled chicken nuggets as well. You could drain any remaining liquid and add a bit more seasoning if you run into that scenario.Īs far as the seasoning blend goes, your guess is as good as mine as to what Chick-Fil-A grilled nuggets are really seasoned with. If you do, you probably didn’t drain the diced chicken well enough. You shouldn’t have any clumping or loose seasoning in the bowl. A little moisture is okay here since you won’t be adding any oil. You want to drain the chicken well, but you don’t need to pat it dry like instructed for my recently published air fryer chicken tenders. Step 2: Drain the chicken and season with powdered sugar, black pepper, smoked paprika, salt, and garlic powder. You could also add some fresh citrus juice like in my air fryer Greek chicken and potatoes, though that will alter the flavor profile a bit. If you don’t have pickle juice on hand, you could swap it for a little vinegar and broth or something else pickled like jalapeño peppers. I like the idea of buttermilk like in my spicy baked chicken tenderloins or crispy buttermilk pan fried chicken breast recipes. I went with skim milk, but you could use any type of milk here. Still, I’d encourage you not to skip the pickle juice and milk bath. That means more flavor in every bite, making a marinade a little less vital for flavor. The beauty of diced chicken (or any meat) is that you get so much more surface area for seasoning to latch onto. Step 1: Soak diced chicken breast in pickle juice and milk for 30-60 minutes. You’ll find a printable recipe card at the bottom of the post as always. All you’ll need for this version is:Īnd that’s it! I’ll walk you through the recipe below and go over a few ingredient modifications and air frying tips along the way. This is a super easy recipe, despite a 30-60 minute stint in a marinade. It’s a spin on Simplistically Living’s Chick Fil A grilled nuggets which calls for pan frying and a slightly different seasoning blend. There is no definitive answer to this question as the company that makes Beanboozled, Jelly Belly, does not list the ingredients of their products on their website. The shells are formed from colored syrups and sugar poured onto the bean centers by hand. Jelly bean centers are steam bathed and sugared after being soaked in sugar. The slurry is fed to a mogul, a type of pipe, through pipes. The ingredients are then flavored with a variety of ingredients such as juice concentrate, fruit purées, or natural flavorings. Water, cornstarch, sugar, and corn syrup are all added to a slurry. A hot liquid mixture, such as slurry, is created during this process. A switch in the upper right corner will dock the panel to the nearest edge. If you leave it freely floating, use shift-option-drag to adjust the sliders and all else but that slider will disappear. Some like it floating freely, but I prefer to dock it so the image won't be covered up. I'd usually then hit "h" to activate just the adjustment panel. My preferred editing method photos was in the new full-screen mode: Typing "f" makes the clutter vanish. It can be easy to get a bit lost at first, when clicking around through albums, smart projects, faces modes, and search filters. It's all there for a reason, though, and the advanced options generally don't intrude. The Aperture user interface is festooned with gewgaws: gears to tweak control settings, arrows to revert adjustments, icons in text input fields to filter searches, buttons to issue commands. Previously, Aperture permitted only changes that affected the whole image, but the local brushes are much more powerful. New features-in particular the ability to brush on a wide range of changes-mean Aperture users won't have to detour as often into other software such as Photoshop to get the look they want. Photo editing is the core of the Aperture experience. Typing "v" cycles the central view through an array of thumbnails, a single photo, and a combination with a photo at the top and the thumbnails in a filmstrip. Typing "w" switches the major control to the library for file management, then the metadata panel for keywords and the like, then the adjustments panel for editing photos. Two basic keyboard commands rapidly cycle you through the major modes you'll need. The Aperture interface consists of a central working area surrounded by controls. And tasks that combine multiple images-high-dynamic range (HDR) photography and panorama stitching, for example-don't mesh easily with an approach that's fundamentally about changes to a single image. Some chores are computationally difficult, especially as more effects are layered on. And when yet another engine arrives, with better algorithms for sharpening, color reproduction, or noise reduction, you'll be able to process the originals yet again. Aperture 3 has a better engine than Aperture 2 for converting the raw originals, so photos you shot earlier can be reprocessed with the new engine. One reason the nondestructive approach is important: editing software changes. It's an approach well suited to the raw images higher-end cameras produce and that enthusiasts often prefer over JPEG. With Aperture, the original image is always unscathed. These tasks Aperture handles capably, for the most part.Īnother difference in the modern era is nondestructive editing, in which changes are overlaid on a raw image foundation without altering it. You can import the photos from a camera or memory card, edit them, add metadata such as captions and keywords, present slideshows, print them or create photo books, and upload them to Facebook or Flickr. Aperture is geared for this latter philosophy. Now, though, photographers can deal with batches of pictures: a photo shoot, a vacation trip, a wedding, a soccer match. In the old days, people edited photos one at a time. Finally, Aperture's basic video support means it's equipped to deal with photographers' explorations into cinematography enabled by newer dSLRs. On top are face recognition and geotagging-features that pay dividends later when it comes to locating or identifying a particular photo. At its heart are an improved image-processing engine that produces nicely toned photos and a new editing system that's powerful yet flexible. But Aperture is well matched to the photo enthusiast or professional-the sort of person who carries a dSLR and prefers the benefits of raw image formats to their inconveniences.įor that growing number of people, Aperture 3 has what it takes at a cost of $199 new, $99 to upgrade, or free for a 30-day trial. If you mostly take snapshots of smiling friends and the occasional outing, look elsewhere. It's a slam-dunk upgrade for Aperture 2.x owners, an option worth investigating for iPhoto users, and a worthy competitor to programs from imaging powerhouse Adobe Systems.Īperture, like Adobe's Photoshop Lightroom, isn't for everybody. With Aperture 3, Apple has dramatically improved its software for both photography enthusiasts and professionals. It hits the sweet spot of image editing for photo enthusiasts. The bottom line: Apple Aperture 3 breathes life into photos, handles cataloging well, and keeps Adobe at bay. The bad: Performance slows with large images or heavy editing no image stabilization for video easy for beginners to get lost in the interface. Face recognition, geotagging, and video support are compelling advantages. The good: Apple Aperture 3 is a powerful, modern photo editor. In the United States, for example, state governments play a significant role in supporting public universities. Higher education funding varies across different countries and states. * Reduction in Public Funding: While Ronald Reagan's policies did reduce funding to the university system, it is essential to consider the broader context. These costs are often factored into the overall budget of the institution, contributing to the cost of education. These initiatives require significant funding for equipment, facilities, and the salaries of research staff. * Research and Development: Many universities are engaged in research and development activities. Upgrading existing infrastructure and keeping up with technological advancements adds to the financial burden. * Infrastructure and Facilities: Maintaining and expanding campus infrastructure, including buildings, libraries, laboratories, and other facilities, can be costly. These investments require financial resources. Educational institutions often invest in advanced technologies to enhance teaching and learning experiences, such as digital learning platforms, online resources, and research tools. * Technological Advancements: While technology can streamline certain processes, it can also lead to increased costs. These costs contribute to the overall expense of running an institution. This includes expenses related to staffing, facilities, compliance with regulations, and various administrative functions. * Administrative Costs: Higher education institutions have seen an increase in administrative costs over the years. Over time, the prices of goods and services increase, including those associated with providing a quality education. * Inflation: Like many other sectors, the cost of education has risen due to inflation. The cost of higher education is influenced by several factors, and while Ronald Reagan's policies did have an impact on the funding of the university system, they are not the sole reason for the high costs. Why is Higher Education so Expensive? Ronald Reagan cut funding to university system by 25%. There are some exceptions - so talk to your advisor for additional clarity. Why has this happened? Firearms historians may eventually call it a "perfect storm" of favorable circumstances: a change in general public attitude about defensive handguns combined with an increasingly favorable legislative climate at the state and local level combined with positive federal court rulings, significant advances in economical handgun manufacturing capabilities and, most notably, a resurrection of the 9mm's reputation as an effective cartridge for personal defense. Smith & Wesson unveiled its single-stack M&P9 Shield in May 2012. Kimber introduced its diminutive 9mm Solo Carry in 2011, and Beretta came forth with its 9mm Nano only a few months later. Ruger responded to its customers with the "LCP-like" LC9 9mm in late 2010. Taurus announced its single-stack 9mm PT709 Slim at the same 2008 SHOT Show as Ruger introduced the. Kahr Arms, whose all-steel, single-stack K9 DAO 9mm (also introduced in 1995) was arguably the first of the "modern feature" compact 9mms, experienced a similar surge, and the company was well positioned to capitalize on the situation since it had also moved increasingly toward polymer construction after the introduction of its 9mm P9 in 2000. Kel-Tec's polymer-frame double-stack P-11 (introduced in 1995), single-stack PF-9 (2006) and other 9mm variants started to experience record sales. 380 appeared on the market, Ruger customers began to clamor for another gun just like it - only in 9mm. Then something even more interesting happened. Across the firearms marketplace, pocket-size pistols ruled. 380 LCP, the first concealed carry ultra-compact pistol the company had ever produced and a very "Kel-Tec-like" product. If there was a breakthrough moment, it probably came in 2008 when Ruger introduced its tiny polymer-frame. It didn't take long for more established name-brand makers to read the writing on the wall. 380 Auto (and smaller-caliber) pistols, led by manufacturers such as Kel-Tec. The result, beginning around 2003, was a huge surge in sales of small, double-action-only, polymer-frame. The primary concerns of these first-timers are simple: reliability, convenience, ease of use, weight and, of course, cost. The consequence is that citizens by the millions have acquired concealed carry licenses, and many more have, for the first time, purchased small handguns for defense.īecause these buyers are not experienced shooters, they are largely unaware (even immune) to the arguments that have raged for decades among firearms experts over the "best" handgun designs or the most "appropriate" cartridge choices. This has resulted in a rapid acceleration of state and local legislation to the point where, today, 49 of our 50 states allow some type of concealed firearm carry by ordinary citizens. The reasons are complex and represent both a trend in consumer demand for concealed carry handguns and, in general, attitudes about the 9mm cartridge by firearms experts and ordinary citizens alike.įoremost among these reasons is a fundamental shift in attitude among Americans in the post-9/11 and post-Katrina world about the need to have a firearm in their home or on their person for personal (and family) protection. Of course, there were pocket-size 9mms on the market before, but this category of handguns has now suddenly gone mainstream, with every major manufacturer adding new entries to a rapidly growing list. There has been an explosion in the availability of small 9mm semi-autos. So if I use the word "pocket" at all in reference to a handgun, I prefer the term "pocket-size." I've never liked the term "pocket pistol." Yes, I often carry a pistol in my jacket pocket, but to call a gun a pocket pistol implies that it is specifically designed to be carried there. Every route will have a different colour painted, so there won't be any confusion. Because of this simplicity, there have been emphases in the game, which leads you to how you can create routes on the maps that can attract several participants.
